First document

What starts when you launch​

A small background service starts with the application and stops when you close the last window. It lets the assistant read and change the document you have open, and it accepts connections only from your own computer. The AI itself runs in the cloud, reached through your OfficeLabs account.

The sidebar​

A sidebar opens on the right of every Writer, Calc and Impress window. It shows the document you are working on, the tools available for that application, and an input field.

Sign in from the app​

Open the Account tab in the sidebar settings and sign in. The app opens a short confirmation page in your browser where you approve this device; no password is typed into the app. See Devices.

Run a request​

  1. Open or create a document in Writer, Calc or Impress.
  2. Type what you want in plain language, for example "Rewrite the second paragraph in plain language".
  3. OfficeLabs plans the steps and applies them to the open document. Actions that change a lot ask for your approval first.
  4. Review the result in the document. Use LibreOffice's normal undo if you want to step back.
